Roughley Insurance Brokers Ltd. opened its doors on September 8, 1945, founded by Harold G. Roughley and was quickly embraced by the Durham Region community. Harold built the brokerage on a few simple truths:

- A referral is the highest compliment.
For more than 50 years, Jim Roughley expanded on Harold's philosophy—to be the brokerage that cares. By broadening market access and championing claims advocacy, the brokerage grew steadily through referrals to a team of 40+ across Oshawa, Bowmanville, and Port Perry.
