Claims

What Is Occurrence?

An occurrence is an event — or repeated exposure to the same harmful conditions — that causes covered injury or damage during the policy period. Most liability policies are written on an occurrence basis, so they respond to incidents that happen while the policy is in force, even if the claim is reported later.
