Coverage That Fits Classic Vehicles

01
Liability

Liability

You could be held responsible for injuries and property damage in a collision. This part of your policy helps cover legal fees, settlements, and court awards. We recommend $2M liability, though higher limits may be available.

02
Accident Benefits

Accident Benefits

Covers a range of medical benefits not covered by provincial health care including rehabilitation and attendant care. It also replaces lost income if you can't work and can cover a caregiver for your kids or elderly parent.

03
Direct Compensation Property Damage (DCPD)

Direct Compensation Property Damage (DCPD)

When you are in a collision and not-at-fault, this part of your policy pays for your vehicle's damages with no deductible. It also includes coverage for items inside your vehicle and a rental car.

04
Uninsured Automobile Coverage

Uninsured Automobile Coverage

Protects you if you are injured by an uninsured motorist or by a hit-and-run. Also covers damage caused by identified uninsured motorist.

05
Collision

Collision

Collision coverage pays to repair your vehicle after an accident. We recommend choosing a deductible that's right for you. Higher deductibles means you pay less but are out of pocket more during a claim.

06
Comprehensive & All Perils

Comprehensive & All Perils

Comprehensive coverage pays for damage to your vehicle beyond your control such as fire, theft, vandalism, water damage and flying debris. All Perils coverage combines Collision and Comprehensive together.

What We Need to Quote Your Classic Car

01

Vehicle details and value

Year, make, model and VIN, plus the value you want to insure it for. Classic policies are usually written on an agreed value, so the number we settle on together is what a total loss pays. An appraisal is not needed in most cases; we only ask for one when the value does not match our system.

02

Recent photos

A few clear, current photos of the car help support the agreed value and show its condition, especially for restored or modified vehicles.

03

How much you drive

Classic programs are built for limited, pleasure use: shows, club events, cruise nights and weekend drives, not commuting. Tell us roughly how far you drive it in a season. Mileage allowances vary by market, and we will match you to one that fits how you actually use the car.

04

Where it is stored

Insurers want collector vehicles stored securely when they are not being driven, typically in a locked garage or a similar enclosed building. Tell us where the car lives and whether it is stored over the winter.

05

Your daily driver

Most classic programs require a separate vehicle for regular commuting and errands, because the classic is priced for occasional use. We will ask what you drive every day and who else in the household drives.

06

Hagerty and other specialty markets

Roughley Insurance is a Top Gear Broker with Hagerty, and we also place classics, customs and collector vehicles with other specialty markets, so we can match your car to the program that suits it.
